Who do we think we are..
Chhitra represents everything that David, based in Purmerend, has aspired to create. Since the beginning of 2024, his studio in Purmerend has served as a hub for making diverse artworks accessible to everyone. David embarks on journeys worldwide, delving into museum and library archives in search of extraordinary pieces. His passion lies in reimagining and enhancing art, giving life to creations that have remained hidden for decades. Whether you call him a treasure hunter, librarian, art historian, restorer, art influencer, or digital artist, one thing is certain: David embodies Chhitra, and Chhitra embodies David.

Art reproductions.
Countless paintings, steeped in history and priceless value, have journeyed across the world for generations. Over time, however, these masterpieces often bear the marks of age and wear. At Chhitra, we revive them with care, meticulously restoring each piece to its finest, most authentic state. Our digital restoration process can take days, but the outcome is nothing short of spectacular.
Restore to perfect condition.
A few years ago, we set out to revive the beauty of ‘Old Masters.’ Our search soon extended to renowned Dutch institutions like the Van Gogh Museum and the Rijksmuseum, and today, we’re proud to tap into a global network of art from all over the world. We meticulously restore these timeless pieces to their original glory, while infusing them with a distinct Chhitra twist, customized to our clients’ tastes. There’s something magical about placing a masterpiece from 1618 into a contemporary 2023 interior. Because of this, many of our artworks are unique and one-of-a-kind.
Each week, we enrich our collection with new reproductions and fresh acquisitions from our personal art archive. Some pieces are truly rare—it’s awe-inspiring to have them hanging in your home. We’re always eager to travel to cities like Paris or London to find hidden treasures, which we then digitize in our studio, allowing more people to appreciate them. And for even greater creative joy, we love partnering with other artists to create something special.
